IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:
Attention all Road Race Competitors & Engine Builders, a major oilspill which occured during a sidecar race at Hampton Downs which resulted in serious delays was caused by the replacement of a not required sensor unit with a non standard plug that was unsuitable for the purpose.
The plug used was a light steel pressing encapsulated in a rubber type compound which deformed under the heat and crankase pressure and which failed suddenly allowing most of the crankase oil to be released suddenly.
This happened at full speed down the start finish straight, because of the forces involved the machines catch tray was unable to contain the spillages.
The purpose of this bulletin is to advise all competitors, engine builders, and constructors preparing race engines that any replacement engine crankcase plugs, blanking plugs or sensors be constructed of a suitable material such as alluminium or steel and that the method of retaining the item be as the original factory installation.

An oil catch bottle may be fitted that runs in line to the air box from the crankcase provided the intent of the rule is maitained.
Pro Twin 650 Class
The chain and sprockets may be changed to another pitch.
The engine must be standard, Inlet cam from the inlet, Exhaust cams for the exhaust, no swapping around of parts. Standard engines means standard.
There is no truth in the rumour that MNZ is changing the engine capacity over the stated rule for the Pro Twin 650cc.
