ISLAND & NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT - 2012

The following is the format for the 2012 NZ Cross Country Championships, the North and South Island Championships.

There will be 4 rounds consisting of two in the North Island and two in South Island.  Your best three rounds will count,  you must ride the final in Christchurch.

North Island   ~  Round 1 ~ Bushriders Motorcycle Club, Pahiatua     ~    Sunday 19th February 2012 www.bushriders.co.nz
                     ~  Round 2 ~ Huntly Motorcycle Club, Huntly              ~    Sunday 25th March 2012

South Island   ~  Round 3 ~ Marlborough Motorcycle Club, Blenheim ~    Sunday 22nd April 2012
                     ~  Round 4 ~ Christchurch Off-Road M/C Club            ~    Saturday 12th May 2012

For the North and South Island Champs points will be allocated to resident Island competitors. 

Championship Senior 3 hour Classes - entry fee $70

 Class 1    ~  201cc & Over Two Stroke
 Class 2    ~  0-200cc Two Stroke
 Class 3    ~  301cc & Over Four Stroke
 Class 4    ~  0-300cc Four Stroke
 Class 5    ~  Veterans (35yrs- 44yrs)
 Class 6    ~  Super Veterans (45yrs & over)
 Class 7    ~  Ladies (non championship)
 Teams (3 riders) - no entry fee.

Junior 1.5 hour classes - entry fee $50

 12-16yrs 2 stroke - up to 85cc
 12-16yrs 2 stroke - up to 200cc
 12-16yrs 4 stroke - up to 230cc
 12-16yrs 4 stroke - up to 300cc
 Junior Ladies
 Teams (3 riders) - no entry fee

Points will be scored as per rule 6.15.1
Transponders will be used for lapscoring so please register by emailing tnthislop@farmside.co.nz your class, number and name, this will speed up sign on time and give you a better chance of getting your correct number.  You can pay at sign on.

Sign on:       Juniors are 7am to 8am followed by briefing and then sighting lap
                  Seniors are 8am to 9.15am followed by briefing and sighting lap

Friendly reminders:
~ Juniors must be 12yrs and over and must be able to pick up and start their bike
~ Safety gear as per rule 8.1.1
~ Ensure number boards have numbers
~ Ensure licences are filled out correctly
~ Current club membership
~ Helmet number
~ Signed licence card
~ Be prepared for random bike compliance checks
